FAQs about CBD Oil
What is CBD oil?
Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is derived from cannabis naturally found in the industrial hemp plant. Cannabinoids are not responsible for creating a psychoactive response associated with the "high" caused by THC in the marijuana plant. It is completely legal in the United States and contains no THC. CBD oil interacts with the body in a way that can relieve a number of symptoms including anxiety, chronic pain and other neurodegenerative disorders.
What are the differences between cannabis, hemp and marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana are two different strains of the cannabis plant. The hemp plant is hardy and tall and grows quickly while marijuana plants are much shorter and bushier. Hemp contains very low amounts of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana responsible for creating a "high." The different definitions are no doubt confusing. Just remember that cannabis usually means marijuana that contains TCH producing a high while hemp is low in THC and does not produce a high.
Will CBD oil make me fail a drug test?
Most drug tests in the work place search for the psychoactive compound THC, not Cannabidiol (CBD) or other compounds found naturally in hemp. However, lab results show that hemp oil can contain trace amounts of THC. Although only a very small amount is present, it could cause a positive result when screening urine and blood specimens. If you are subject to any form of drug testing or screening, we recommend you do not ingest this product. Please consult with your healthcare practitioner and drug screening/testing company or employer before consuming these products.
